Artist & Advocate

In September 2021, Reinhold took the helm as Director of Sea Walls Santa Cruz, introducing the PangeaSeed Foundation's esteemed global program, Sea Walls: Artists for Oceans, to the shores of Santa Cruz, California. The initiative aimed to illuminate pressing ocean conservation issues through the creation of 19 thought-provoking murals.

In just one week, the Sea Walls project came to fruition, thanks to the collaborative efforts of over twenty-five artists hailing from Santa Cruz and beyond. These expansive artworks serve as poignant reminders of locally relevant marine environmental challenges, including plastic pollution, ocean acidification, warming seas, biodiversity loss, and environmental justice.

The impact of this project reverberates throughout Santa Cruz, reshaping the city's public art landscape and heralding a new era of artistic expression intertwined with advocacy.

Santa Cruz Native

Growing up in the vibrant coastal town of Santa Cruz, California, with his formative years spent in Soquel, Reinhold's roots run deep in the community. After graduating from Santa Cruz High, he pursued his passion for the arts, earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Santa Clara University before returning to his hometown.

Pioneering Made Fresh Crew

In 2009, Reinhold embarked on a journey to unite Santa Cruz's artistic talents, creating the Made Fresh Crew. This collective of local artisans collaborates on a range of projects, both locally and internationally. From the striking 500-foot ocean sustainability mural on Mission Street to numerous impactful community initiatives, the Made Fresh Crew draws inspiration from street art, education, and activism. Their creative pursuits extend beyond murals to encompass pottery, glass blowing, videography, painting, and jewelry making.
